Drug Uses
Indocin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic agent (NSAIAs) used for the symptomatic treatment of active stages of rheumatic diseases. Indocin is effective in treating:
- acute episodes of bursitis, gouty arthritis or tendinitis;
- moderate to severe osteoarthritis or ankylosing (rheumatoid) spondylitis;
- active rheumatoid arthritis (including acute episodes of inflammation and pain).
Due to powerful analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, Indocin helps to quickly:

Missed dose

More Information
Indocin may reduce crampy lower abdominal pain before and during menstruation. However, this NSAIA is not approved to ease menstrual cramps, pain and discomfort during menstruation, as well as it is used for the symptomatic treatment of primary dysmenorrhea as "off-label".
